An 18th centuary bridge typical of the period being very graceful in form. Built to take local farm and light passenger traffic between Arkengarthdale and Barnard Castle this bridge now carries 32 tonne HGVs but for how much longer who can say?The designs and drawings for many of the bridges over the Tees and its tributaries on the Yorkshire side are held in the North Yorkshire Records office in Nortallerton.
