Great service, we have organised two big get togethers at the Bengal Merchant. The food is always great and the service is second to none. We are always made to feel welcome and looked after. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment in recommending them.
Was recommended to eat here by town locals and was not disappointed. Both food and service were excellent and meal was reasonably priced. Will definitely return when next in town

One of two Indian restaurants in Barnard's Castle. We didn't visit the other one but we were very happy with our choice. The welcome was friendly, the service prompt and the dishes from the varied menu were very tasty. Once again the toilets were on an upper floor so not for those who don't do stairs. Ample parking on the street.
THE. BEST. RESTAURANT. EVER! curries are amazing. Staff have become like friends. been going as a regular for years and it has never let us down. So good.
